About Sona

Sona is a self-hostable, fork-and-deploy personal gallery for a fursona. It’s the software behind a single-admin site for your character’s commissioned art, fursuit photos, and sticker packs.

What it is

Most furry artwork lives scattered across social platforms that come and go, rerank your posts, and own your audience. Sona is the opposite: you fork the project, deploy it to your own Cloudflare account, and you have a clean, fast site that is entirely yours. There are no visitor accounts, no feeds, no ads, and no platform that can disappear or change the rules. One person runs each site, through a simple admin panel.

What it does

• An art gallery with collections, tags, artist credits, NSFW handling, and source links.
• Fursuit photo import from FurTrack, then self-hosted.
• Telegram-style sticker packs, with per-sticker artist credit and emoji search.
• A single-admin CMS with a hashed password and no user accounts.
• Selectable themes and landing layouts, light and dark.
• An optional shared artist registry so independent sites don’t re-enter the same artists.

Open source

Sona’s full source is public: you can read every line, fork it, modify it, and run it for free on infrastructure you control, under the Apache License 2.0. The code lives at github.com/sona-fast/sona. For people who’d rather not run their own infrastructure, we’re weighing a managed hosting option. There’s a waitlist on the home page if you want to hear about it.

How it’s built

Sona’s code is written with AI coding agents, working from designs and decisions made by the project’s maintainer, who approves every merge and clicks every deploy. None of the project’s own artwork is AI-generated, and every site built on Sona can publish its own AI disclosure page. Our AI disclosure page has the details, including what it means for a site you’d run.

Who’s behind it

Sona is built and maintained by Sparky, the creator of the original deployment it grew out of. It’s an independent project, not affiliated with FurAffinity, FurTrack, Telegram, or any platform it integrates with; those names belong to their respective owners.
